OpenStudy (anonymous):

Create a set of numbers and call the set N. Describe a subset of N and explain why it is a subset of N.

OpenStudy (nory):

Choose some numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 2 4 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

N=45,67,87,98 subset would be 45,67 S is a subset of N because all of the numbers in S are also in N

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or with your number 1,2,4,8 your subset would be 2,4

OpenStudy (nory):

N = {1, 2, 4, 8} A subset would be {2,4} because 2 and 4 are both in N. Does that make sense? Find another subset.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

N = {12, 16, 22, 58, 62} N is the set of ages, in years, of John's family. Y = {12, 16, 22} Y is the set of ages under 30 of John's family. Y is a subset of N because every element of Y is an element of N.

OpenStudy (nory):

@mathstudent55 has another subset of a different set of numbers.

OpenStudy (nory):

Does this make sense @shahbaaz786 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kinda

OpenStudy (nory):

If we have a set {4, 5, 6, 1777}, then {4, 5, 6} would be a subset, because the elements 4, 5, and 6, which are all the elements in the second set, are all in the first set. Do you understand that part?
