how do I calculate the sum of 1/7

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Can you check if your question is complete? We do not usually find the sum of one single number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It only states calculate the sum of 1/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The sum is when you add. You do not have two numbers to add...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I know, but it gives me multiple choices like 2/28, 1, etc

OpenStudy (mathmate):

is 1/7 one of them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can't really help with that. Looks like someone had the same problem as you though-- http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20130610122328AAWnrro

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it is not.

OpenStudy (mathmate):

what are you working on in math?

OpenStudy (kainui):

Show us your choices and maybe that can help. This seems fairly queer to me... Is this a geometric series? http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=sum+from+1+to+infinity+%281%2F7%29%5En

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, it is algebra. I will go to the question and copy and paste, give me a minute! Thanks

OpenStudy (mathmate):

What in algebra? Geometric series, ...? A lot of the time, question imply the subject you're working on. So an isolated question may not mean much.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It says calculate the sum 1/7 2/11, 11/28, 2/28,1 these are the answers I can choose from

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Are you working on fractions? Can you post the last you worked on?

OpenStudy (kainui):

Are you sure those are the answers and not what you're supposed to be summing?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

@dummie56 are you still there?
