OpenStudy (dls):

If y=..... find second derivative wrt x

OpenStudy (dls):

\[\Huge y=xe^{x^2}\]

OpenStudy (dls):

\[\LARGE logy=x^2 logxe\]

OpenStudy (dls):

do i need to take log again?

OpenStudy (kainui):

There's really not reason to take the log in the first place. Just use the product rule.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

\[\log y=\log (xe^{x^2}) \qquad=\qquad \log(x)+\log(e^{x^2}) \qquad=\qquad \log x+x^2 \log e\]

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Yah I'm not really sure why the log is being used here :D

OpenStudy (dls):

okay :(

OpenStudy (kainui):

Don't frown, calculus is fun-ulus!

OpenStudy (dls):

yup,true

zepdrix (zepdrix):

\[\Large y'=\color{royalblue}{\left(x\right)'}e^{x^2}+x\color{royalblue}{\left(e^{x^2}\right)'}\] Any trouble taking the derivative of that second blue term? :o

OpenStudy (dls):

nope,i got it ,thanks!
