Latoya is growing a sunflower plant in her garden. Three times a week she waters it and measures its height. Susan wants to see how long it takes for the sunflower to reach her height of 4.5 feet. She records the growth on a graph. Is this an example of a discrete or continuous function? Explain.
helppppp meeeeeeee fml
Use this source to differentiate the meaning of disrete and continuous function. "Discrete functions are with x that can be only some values, continuous are with infinitely many values in any interval. Tables, like 1/4.5 2/9.00 3/13.50 4/18.00 is discrete with a step 1/4.50. For instance between 1/4.5 and 2/9.00 we have no x. The function like y= -2x + 3, when the domain (x) have discrete values is also discrete, for instance, it does not have a value with x=3. When given a range (without a domain), the function y is continuous in this range, e.g if given only the range 7 > y > -1, y can have infinitely many values within this range, that is, it is continuous." -Lyudmil, Yahoo!
