The counter on a tape recorder registers 520 after the recorder has been running for 20 minutes. What would the counter register after half an hour?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply by 3 and divide by 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

520*3=1560 20*3=60

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30 mins = 780

Okay, so the counter is 520....after the register has been running for 20 minutes. So what would the counter be for 1 minute? \[520\div20=26\] That means the counter would be at 26, for 1 minute. If the counter is at 26, for 1 minute, what would the counter be, for 30 minutes? \[26\times30=780\] -------- You could try posting questions like this in the Math section. But this one was really easy, you see.
