what does n mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as in n numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if so, n is just a notation used to describe how n can be any number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

n is a generic term to denote a variable.

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

more often than not, n refers to natural numbers but n can be anything standards \[n\in N = natural\space numbers\\ k\in Z = integers\\x\in R = real\space numbers \\c\in C=complex \space numbers\]

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

but again, I see n is integer all the time. But I never see it being used as a non discrete variable. I never see it used for R
