And B, you felt was the most correct answer because....? Like what leads you to pick B? 
You seem to have only posted the answer choices. Where's the actual question?

I am sorry the question is Tom has a collection of 30 CDs and Nita has a collection of 18 CDs. Tom is adding 1 CD a month to his collection while Nita is adding 5 CDs a month to her collection. Write a system to find the number of months after which they will have the same number of CDs. Let x represent the number of months and y the number of CDs.

i choose B, because if tom collection 30 and but it never say how much tom add so it going to  be y=x+30 then Nita she add 5 CD out of the 18 CD so for that is y=5x+18 i am not sure if i did it right
