OpenStudy (anonymous):

in physics what is meant by plasma which is a type in material classification.

OpenStudy (shamim):

all atoms r ionized in a gas is called plasma state. it has eqal number of positive n negative ions. it has no neutral atom.

OpenStudy (theeric):

The thing about plasma that makes it different, as far as I can tell is that there are charged particles and they can interact. It means that, even though the plasma as a whole might be about neutral, it has separated charged particles and so reacts stongly to electric and magnetic fields - unlike gas, solids, and liquids. But That's just what I gather from the internet and the background information from courses.
