Can any one explain me what is the role of "software test engineer" as a fresher.
This one is a pretty literal one. Software, the stuff that runs on computer hardware. Test, to examine and look for flaws. Engineer, a practitioner of applied scientific knowledge and methods. Depending on the level of testing, not all Software test Engineers are actually Engineers. Like the railroad Engineer, this can just be the person driving the test. In the lower levels, they need only the skills to identify things that break and the proper methodology to test everything. Others are more involved in the software development, build test harnesses (programming), and use their education to do their best to bend, break, and stress the program. The big things are communications, documenting, and an analytical nature.
