Compare and contrast the domain and range of f(x) and g(x). I have no idea what this means.

domain is the set of "inputs" to our function, while the range is the set of "outputs" (this is imprecise language, though; 'range' is a vague term that could either mean image (what I just described) or codomain (the set that contains our image and our function is defined to map to))

I undertand how domain would be inputs, but i don't see how range is outputs. Wouldn't the outputs of the function be the specific points on the graph?
