graph the equation by plotting three points x-y=0

OpenStudy (phi):

can you put it in the form y = mx+b ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=x+0

OpenStudy (phi):

or just y=x if you can't find 3 nice points, you should take up basket weaving and give up on geometry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please just help me

OpenStudy (phi):

pick a small number for x. what is y ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok 2 how would i put that in the equation

OpenStudy (phi):

y=x

OpenStudy (phi):

if x =2, replace x with 2 in the equation y=x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so y=2

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, so (2,2) is a nice point pick a smaller x (just to keep things simple) what is y ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 1,1 is the next point

OpenStudy (phi):

yes. notice that y= x or y= 1 x means the slope is 1 or 1/1 the change in y is 1 and the change in x is 1 so you could add 1 to the x and 1 to the y to get the next points or go backwards, and add -1 to the x and -1 to the y or just pick small x numbers, because y will be the same thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so my points can be (2,2) (1,1) (0,0)

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, and of course there are lots more....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much for everything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I had to start all over again because i accidentally logged off the test I was taking
