Please help .. What is the slope of the line 2x + 5y = -10?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Solve it for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in general form it is 2x+5y+10=0 so gradient = -a/b therefore it is -2/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why did you move the equal sign again?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you dont really have to move the = sign but for this question i find that putting the equation in general form to find the gradient is much easier than the gradient intercept form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, i thought i had missed something in a lesson :P but thank you for explaining it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem :)

oh wait one more thing.. is it ....|dw:1375580329685:dw|
