OpenStudy (anonymous):

(4x-7)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16x^2+49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would that be the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you want to expand it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there anything to expand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

get it out of the brackets

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i put it into my cas and i got 16x^2-56x+49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then if you want x just solve to get x= 7/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did that help staldk3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it wouldn't be x^3 for the 16x part?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 16x^3+49?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think I have to solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im confused on what you are looking for next time please be more precise. then people can help you quicker

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think I just need to solve (4x-7)^2 and I don't have to solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve probably means solve for x because if they wanted it to be simplified they would have wanted you to expand and collect like terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Can you show me how to do that?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

(4x-7)^2 =(4x-7)(4x-7) = 16x^2 -28x -28x +49 = 16x^2 -56x +49 or if you know formula (a-b)^2 = a^2 -2ab +b^2 than in your presently case a = 4x and b = -7 so using these and introduced in this formula will get the same result hope this will help you understanding easy right sure bye
