A student gets a cut on his hand. Within a week, the cut has healed and there is little evidence of the original injury. What can we assume about the cells surrounding the cut? -Mitosis has occurred, where healthy eukaryotic cells divide to form new cells. -Binary fission has occurred, allowing the injured prokaryotic cells to repair and grow. -The remaining cells grew and reproduced asexually through binary fission. -The injured eukaryotic cells healed, repaired, and grew through mitosis.

So I know it is not the second or the third, but I can't narrow it down further. Please Help.

OpenStudy (4n1m0s1ty):

The first one. Mitosis is the replication of a cell, it does not heal and repair an existing cell.
