REWARD MEDAL AND BECOME A FAN! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If v1 = (2,-5) and v2 = (4,-3), then the angle between the two vectors is _________. Round your answer to two decimal places. (I think its 22)
|dw:1375657326185:dw| I think drawing it out will help
|dw:1375657407312:dw| Since each point form a right angle triangle with the origin and the x-axis, we can find out the length (x) by using pythagoreon theorem
Thanks a visual helps so much, but am I correct would it be 22?
I am doing the question as I'm typing so i have not got an answer yet
sorry
Oh its okay but what would be the next step into solving it I REALLY want to learn how to solve it in case I get more questions like this so if you sony ming can you explain step by step
well, i just figured out an easier way to do it
lol i forgot he please at the end (:
|dw:1375657739692:dw| the angle you're trying to find can be found by doing a-b. can you see it?
Yes i do right in the corner right ?
yup, the top left... now we can find and 'a' and 'b' individually by using the formula \[\tan \theta = \frac{ opposite }{ adjacent }\] where opposite is the side oppsite to an angle and adjacent is the side touching both the angle and the 90 degree
so to find a, we do \[\tan a = \frac{ 5 }{ 2 }\]
\[a=\tan^{-1} \frac{ 5 }{ 2 }\]
Oh okay I see I got -0.74702229723
