Japan shut it's self from outside like persecuting the christian during the tokagawa time.the only economic was trading with the dutch. europe was open to road access but do to disease the economic stability shutted down. The religion like the knights of templars help the stability of european countries since they were fighting each other and outside invaders like mongols and ottomans. the were connected like trading with china
