OpenStudy (tkhunny):

\(\cos^{2}(x) + \sin^{2}(x) = 1\) Most of the rest is algebra!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need help graping it

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Mega Man?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean mega man?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol okay(:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i need to write the steps to solve this... can you help?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Go look at my first post. That is an important first step. Substitute the known value. Solve for the remaining value. Decide which one is the right one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need to get this done for tomorrow please

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I just told you how to do it. I'm not going to do it for you. Start writing!

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

|dw:1375680763862:dw| can you figure out what ? is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not good at this stuff @zzr0ck3r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

walk me through it @zzr0ck3r

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

|dw:1375681330586:dw| a^2+b^2=c^2

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

you know what b and c are so find a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so subtract 3-2=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zzr0ck3r

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

x^2+2^2=3^2 what is x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x= + or - sqrt 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zzr0ck3r

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this right @dumbcow \[\sqrt{5}^{2}+2^2=3^2?\]

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

|dw:1375681855348:dw| soh cah toa

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

have you heard of soh cah toa?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i have

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yes that is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks @dumbcow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont think your post showed up @zzr0ck3r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dumbcow how do i set it up bro?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

@dumbcow can you finish this, I am on the phone and I think he is in a hurry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just need the soh cah toa forumla and i'll be okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you give that to me @zzr0ck3r ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or @dumbcow

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

oops i got caught up with another post ok SOH CAH TOA sin (angle) = opp/hyp cos(angle) = adj/hyp tan(angle) = opp/adj

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright so then i have the problem find sin theta if tan theta = 1/7. how does that set up?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

tan = opp/adj --> opp = 1 --> adj = 7 |dw:1375683563301:dw| sin = opp/hyp
