Find the equation of the straight line, when gradient=0 and passes through point (2,7)...is the answer y=7 If so how do you do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This seems correct yes. The general equation for a straight line is: \[y = Ax + B\] can you calculate its gradient (or derivative)?

OpenStudy (georgia412):

I did it that way I was just unsure on how the answer should be.. Whether it was y=7 or y=x-0 or something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you followed that path you should find that a straight line with gradient 0 is: \[y=B\] If this line passes through the point (2,7) then this means that when x=2, y=7. As you stated, B must be 7 :)

OpenStudy (georgia412):

I thought that thanks for your help :)

No problem, good luck with the rest of your studies :)

OpenStudy (georgia412):

Thanks
