how do you calculate readings on an ammeter? whats the formula?
Hi! Do you mean an analog ammeter?
You need to provide a circuit diagram with values of voltage and resistance. The location of the ammeter in the circuit must be shown. Then the appropriate method of finding the current reading on the ammeter can be shown to you.
If you're just reading an ammeter...the calculation is done for you. That's like asking how to calculate a thermometer. If you're asking about calculating what an ammeter should read in a given circuit then see @kropot72's answer.
