The ratio of the areas of two similar shapes is the square of the ratio of their perimeters (since area is in square units but perimeter is just in regular units). So the ratio of the areas is 1^2 + 2^2 = 1 : 4 so 1:4 = r:100 4r = 100 r = 25 ft^2
