Is anyone viewing this?

OpenStudy (raden):

2/(2+x+2) = 6/(6+9) solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I distribute?

OpenStudy (raden):

simplify then cross multiply

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 30=24x what do I do now

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Not exactly. Simplify first: 2/(2+x+2) = 6/(6+9) 2/(x+4) = 6/15 Now cross multiply, and make sure you distribute when simplifying product 6(x+4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it is 6x+24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

=30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its fine thnx for the help guys

OpenStudy (raden):

2/(2+x+2) = 6/(6+9) 2/(x+4) = 6/15 2/(x+4) = 2/5 look at the numerators are same, so just take the denominators : x+4 = 5 now, you can smake down that :)
