Please help me ? The figure below shows a kite labeled PQRS. A kite PQRS is shown with a diagonal labeled PR. Write a 2-column, paragraph, or flow-chart proof to show that angle PQR is congruent to angle PSR.

are u planning on doing a two column proof?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes they seem to be easier

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

If it is a kite, then the non-vertex angles (PQR and PSR) are equal by definition.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that all i put for the 2 column proof?

OpenStudy (phi):

to prove the two triangles are congruent you should have a plan. I would try to use side-side-side: if you can show all 3 sides of one triangle are congruent to the other triangle, then by sss, the triangles are congruent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay that helps me way more. thank you

OpenStudy (phi):

once you know the triangles are congruent, you can show "corresponding angles" are congruent by CPCT (corresponding parts of congruent triangles)

OpenStudy (phi):

the 3 sides of the triangles are congruent: 1) PQ= PS by property of kites* 2) QR=QS by property of kites 3) PR=PR reflexive property *a kite is a quadrilateral whose four sides can be grouped into two pairs of equal-length sides that are adjacent to each other.
