Matrices help!
hmm have you done matrix addition yet?
nope :x
lie.
heheh
busted !
We did it just 2 days ago @Buddhayourlord&savoir xD
if i understood how to do it wouldnt be asking :/
Oh well this is a bit difficult than the one you asked before.
halp
so the matrix addition will be \( \Large \left[ \begin{matrix} a& b\\ c& d \end{matrix}\right] + \left[ \begin{matrix} e& f\\ g& h \end{matrix}\right] = \left[ \begin{matrix} a+e& b+f\\ c+g& d+h \end{matrix} \right] \)
so what's an "additive inverse"? well, that just means another number that when added to this, will give 0 so if I have 25 what's the additive inverse of 25? well, 25 + n = 0 what's "n" well, n = -25 25 - 25 = 0 the additive inverse of 25 is -25
$$ \Large { \left[ \begin{matrix} 5&0&-1\\ 3&2&4\\ 8&-6&7 \end{matrix}\right] + \left[ \begin{matrix} \square&\square&\square\\ \square&\square&\square\\ \square&\square&\square \end{matrix}\right] = \left[ \begin{matrix} 0&0&0\\ 0&0&0\\ 0&0&0 \end{matrix} \right] } $$
\[\left[\begin{matrix}a & b \\ c & d\end{matrix}\right] + \left[\begin{matrix}-a & -b \\ -c & -d\end{matrix}\right]=0\]
that should be [0] the zero matrix
so make the exact same matrix and flip the signs....
Is every additive inverse problem like this?
what @zzr0ck3r said
additive inverse just means what do you need to add to a matrix to equal the additive identity which is the 0 matrix
thank you @zzr0ck3r and @jdoe0001
