An airplane flying at an altitude of 32,000 feet descents at a rate of 1,300 feet per minute. It the plane descends for 15 minutes what would its altitude be in feet?

32000-(1300*15)
\(\text{An airplane flying at an altitude of 32,000}\\ \\\text{ feet descents at a rate of }\color{red}{\text{1,300 feet per minute.}}\)
so in 15 minutes it will descend.... well
The plane descends 1300 ft the first minute, descends 1300 ft the second minute making a total of 2600 ft and so on. It will have descended a total of 19500 ft after 15 minutes.
\[32000-19500=12500 ft\]
