The graph above shows the distribution of the number of days spent on business trips in by a group of employees of Company W. Based on the graph, what is the median number of days spent on business trips in for these employees?
what i the was iest way to solve this? this was a question of the day for the SAT
The median is the middle value in a distribution. The number of values is the sum: 5 + 6 + 5 + 8 + 6 + 1 = 31 values. Consider the 31 values arranged as follows: 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 21, 22, 22, 22, 22, 22, ...............24, 26 For a set of n numbers, the median is that ranked\[\frac{1}{2}(n+1)=\frac{1}{2}(31+1)=16\] So the median in this case is the 16th value from the left in the ordered arrangement above. Can you find it?
thank you so much. I understand it now. The answer should be 22! :))
Correct. Good work :) The question is a very good one.
