So you need to solve for x and y. What have you tried with this so far?

Two ways to go at it. Solve for one of the variables in one calculation, and substitute things into the other to solve for it. Or, add the two equations together to eliminate one variable, which lets you solve for the other. Once you know one, you can solve for the second.
