OpenStudy (anonymous):

why is evolution a multigenerational, multi individual process

OpenStudy (anonymous):

evolution is mutligenerational and individual process because we all evolve individually but after some time the whole generation evolve the same characteristics even though it takes longer

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

evolution refers to the changes or modification of a population as a whole. though the view of evolution can also be defined in the micro scale, which is changes in the genetic make-up of individuals within a population.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

in general, evolution by means of natural selection is a slow process and do not take place within a single generation. When observing artificial-selection taking place for several generations since it is purpose-based selection, natural selection is much much slower, because the selection that occurs do not follow a certain purpose, thus giving the illusion of a design.
