you can look at the DNA, or the bone structure.

when @melody16 indicated the "bone structure" she meant the homologous structures (similar structure and function) and also perhaps the analogous structures (same structure with different functions) as well.  These two, along with other comparisons like the DNA, provide clues with the evolutionary relationship among species.
