To Kill a Mock is more or less 2/3rd of the way through this movement. Homosexuals can still not marry. Is this part of a greater Rights movement? Tom killed himself, usually a group of people hung the offender is that progress? Do we recognize the undocumented migrants as people or as nonentities as in Dred Scot? Scout is the innocent looking at her society and coming to terms with its illogic and prejudices. How does Jim's death prepare the reader for the death of Tom Jewel? And want happens to Boo? Can Boo be the courts that level the Civil Rights? And how many Lawyers owe their idealism to Scouts Dad or Gregory Peck?
