please help to explain :D thank you ! <3 Which of the following fractions is the largest? A. 2⁄5 B. 3⁄8 C. 7⁄10 D. 13⁄16

OpenStudy (aonz):

use a calculator and find out...

OpenStudy (aonz):

OR change them all to the same denominator then you can see which is bigger

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i cant use a calculator, i need to do it without it, how would i know which denominator to use? @AonZ

OpenStudy (aonz):

a denominator that they all can fit into. The Lowest common denominator

OpenStudy (aonz):

btw in this case it is 80. Do you agree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

after that what should i do?

OpenStudy (aonz):

You need to make the same denominator? have you learnt this before?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i just need to refresh, so it will be 2/80, 3/0, 7/80,13/80

OpenStudy (aonz):

hmm none of them are right :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you said 80 tho right?

OpenStudy (aonz):

2/5 it needs to be in the same fraction but you want the denominator to be 80 so... 32/80 is 2/5 so do you understand this now? If so, please try the rest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get 32/80?

OpenStudy (aonz):

how many 5's are there in 80? and whatever you get you times it by 2 then that will be your numerator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks :D
