will please help me with this? The Colorado river drops from 3200 feet at Lake Mead to 900 feet elevation at Lee's Ferry, a river distance of 270 miles. What is the gradient in degrees?
i want / need an explanation with that one. PLEASE?
PLEASE?
The attached pic is pretty clear. What's the problem? Did you check all the figures to make sure they are correct?
i want to know where did 2700ft came from? whats the role of 3200ft in that problem since it is not in used in the the PIC.?
Wait. the 2700 is wrong. |dw:1375877392875:dw|
exactly, thats my point. so what is it?
actually, it was given by this SITE http://serc.carleton.edu/mathyouneed/trigonometry/trigsp.html
3200 - 900 = 2300. Replace the 2700 with 2300 and you should get your answer. I don't work with miles, so is 1 mile = 5280 feet? If so Make hypotenuse = 270 * 5280 = 1425600 sin (x) = 2300 / 1425600 \[x = \sin ^{-1} (2300 / 1425600)\]
o yes i got, we have the same answer. thank you :)
i got it*
Great stuff :)
