What is the Value of y in the parallelogram below? http://tinypic.com/r/2djdu0k/5
Opposite angles of a parallelogram are congruent
\[(3x+5) = 108\] And \[3y + (3x + 5) = 180\] First solve for x in the first equation, then plug x into the second equation. Tell me if you have any problems ^_^
The first equation I put is what @ivettef365 is talking about.
3y = (180 - 108)....since adjacent angles are supplementary
no need to involve X unless its required
Blast my tendencies toward involving all possible routes. :P
If you have that angle E = 108, then you know that angle G = 108 so you have 360 - 108 - 108 = 144 so angle D is half of 144
haha, it happens!
just remember adjacent angles are supplementary (add up to 180) and opposite angles are congruent (equal)
So Y is 72?
3y = 72 .... (the angle measurement is)....sounds like the question is find the y variable....so just finish solving!
Not quite. You are forgetting one step in the simplification.
Ah haha, So the answer is 24?
Exactly ;D
Thanks Guys!
Dragon i would give you a medal also, but apparently you can only give one. (Bastards)
it was a team effort, i'll share in spirit haha
Woot teamwork xD
