What is the remainder when (2x3 – 8x2 + 6x – 16) ÷ (x – 4) ?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

use the remainder theorem if dividing by x -a then P(a) will give the remainder for the polynomial P(x) in your question \[P(x) = 2x^3 -8x^2 + 6x - 16\] and the divisor is (x - 4) so find P(4)

unfortunately ive forgotten how to

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well you just do some substitution replace x with 4 and then evaluate....
