OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which of the following pass high-energy electrons to the electron transport chain? A. NADH and FADH2 B. ATP and ADP C. citric acid D. acetyl–CoA

OpenStudy (opcode):

The electron transport chain (aka ETC) is a process in which the NADH and [FADH2] produced during glycolysis, B-oxidation, and other catabolic processes are oxidized thus releasing energy in the form of ATP. The mechanism by which ATP is formed in the ETC is called chemiosmotic phosphorolation. So to recap: ETC = changes NADH and FADH2 into ATP.
