Which of the following sequences are not geometric? (check all that apply) a. 2,10,50,250,1250 b. 1,4,9,16,25,36 c. -4,-2,-1,-0.5,-0.25,-0.125 d. 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21

OpenStudy (precal):

geometric means that they are multiplying or dividing the same number throughout the sequence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b and d are NOT geometric a is geometric since 2x5=10, 10x5=50, .... c is geometric since -4x0.5=-2, -2x0.5=-1, -1x 0.5=-0.5, ... You have to be able to multiply by the same number to get each successive number in the sequence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay so if that number that its being multiplied by or divided by changes then its not geometric correct?

OpenStudy (precal):

|dw:1376432234707:dw|this is an example of one that is geometric
