Can someone check this problem out I don't think its factorable:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[6x ^{2}-4x+5\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not factorable??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you tried using the quadratic formula?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6x 1*6, 2*3 5 1*5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you look at the discriminant, you'll see that there are no real roots. So in the real plane, no, there are no roots.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

roots?

You could also derive the equation to find the vertex to see it's location

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so everyone agrees that the problem is not factorable?
