Why is it important to learn how to solve inequalities? Does it enhance critical thinking? How can it be applied to real life scenarios?

here is a nice real world inequality
you have $2,000 to put down on a car
if you have to put down at least 10%, what are the limitations placed on the price of the car?

it is an inequality, because clearly you don't have to buy the most expensive car you can afford, and also you don't have to put all $2,000 down

maybe that will please your math teacher
