hey please help with this question? Two cars leave from the same parking lot, one driving north and the other driving south. The first car is traveling at a speed of 47 mph and the second is traveling at a speed of 41 mph. How long will it be before they are 308 miles apart?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The distance between them is increasing at 47 +41 = 88 miles per hour...right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Time = Distance / Speed You know distance, you know speed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

308/88 = 3.5 right?
