Let triangle A B C is similar to triangle D E F. In triangle a b c, side a b equals five and side b c equals ten. side d e is unknown, and side e f equals eight. What is the measure of side d e ? 4 8 10 16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so then what would the measure of side de be?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

By using keywords we can conclude the fact that since triangle ABC is similar, then triangle ABC is smaller. Now we know that if we put 10/5 because the five stands for the smaller triangle the simplification would be equal to 2. And if we compared the larger triangle to the smaller triangle then it would be equaled to 8/unknown value (x). If we know that the first ratio equals to 2 so we have to find what number will be the denominator and get the answer of 2.

yes but that doesnt answer the question

never mind i got it, thanks for your help
