Which number satisfies the compound inequality? a < -7.5 and a < 2

A lot of number satisfy these. Any number less than -7.5. For example -8 satisfies it. -100 satisfies it. -23.7 satisfies it. -235435353. etc...
All of these number are both <-7.5 and <2
one may note that anything less than +2 is by definition also less than -7.5
That is false, jdoe. Anything less than +2 is not necessarily less than -7.5. For example: 1 1 is less than +2. But it is not less than -7.5
