if i am not mistaken we can do this with similar triangles

\[\frac{3.6}{\vec{RQ}}=\frac{\vec{RQ}}{10}\] os \(\vec{RQ}^2=36\) and therefore \(\vec{RQ}=6\)

then by pythagoras the length of the beam is \[\sqrt{6^2-3.6^2}=4.8\]
