Can anyone please give Light on 'Multinomial Theorem...

Its a theorem that explains how to expand $$(a_1+a_2+a_3...a_k)^n$$ In terms of a sum of products of powers of each a_i, in constract to the binomial theorem which would explain how to expand $$(a+b)^n$$ In terms of sums of products of powers of a and b.
A simple proof of either could be derived using the power series for the exponential function, and aligning corresponding powers.
