b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please explain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First re-write it like this:\[\bf \sqrt{(-1)(3)} \times \sqrt{(-1)(39)}=\sqrt{-1}\sqrt{3} \times \sqrt{-1}\sqrt{39}\]\[\bf = \sqrt{3}i \times \sqrt{39}i=i^2\sqrt{3}\sqrt{39}=i^2\sqrt{3 \times 39}=i^2\sqrt{117}\]\[\bf = i^2\sqrt{9 \times 13}=i^2\sqrt{9}\sqrt{13}=i^23 \sqrt{13}=-3 \sqrt{13}\]

@RH

OpenStudy (vijay):

\[\sqrt{-3}*\sqrt{-3}*\sqrt{13}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or what @vijay did :D

OpenStudy (vijay):

\[\sqrt{-39}=\sqrt{-3}*\sqrt{13}\]
