Solve the compound inequality 6b < 24 or 4b + 12 > 4.

to solve these you just need to isolate the variable and then that will you give you your answer... so do this you need the variable on its own side of the sign so you have to so the opposite to the other side of the equation take your second one and ill use it as an example... 4b+12>4 so to move the 12 you need to subtract both sides by 12- 4b>4-12 or 8... then to get rid of the 4 you need to divide both sides by 4 so you get b=8/4 or b=2.... do you understand all this?
