Solve for x. -3 + 8x - 5 = -8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can someone help me

OpenStudy (1018):

Transpose -3 and -5 to the right side of the equation, so 8x=-8+3+5, then 8x=0. Divide bothe sides by 8, and x=0

thanks

OpenStudy (1018):

And if substitute 0 to x in the equation, it would be -8=-8 so, I think that's correct. :)
