If f(x)=4/x, find in simplest form: a.) f(x/2) b.) 4f(x+2)-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4/x is simplest form lol I think.

OpenStudy (nurali):

a. f(x/2) 4/(x/2) 8/x b. 4f(x+2)-3 4 * 4/(x+2) - 3 16/(x+2) - 3 16/(x+2) - 3(x+2)/(x+2) 16/(x+2) - (3x+6)/(x+2) (10-3x)/(x+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol it says the answer is 2/x , but idk how to get that..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(something other than x) = whatever you get when you plug in the "something other than x" into the original equation in place of x and simplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer to a is not 2/x. it's 8/x like Nurali did it.
