okay well.....Essentially anything we do will have some sort of negative effect on the ecosystem The magnitude varies greatly. Global warming is just one consequence. In terms of species extinction, well let's think of a few.

Overfishing: For example in Newfoundland, cod fish have been overfished to the point that the population cannot recover. If these fish die out then of course their predators also starve. Furthermore, large fishing vessels destroy fish that are caught as by-catch.

Clear-cutting rainforest can cause irreversible destruction as the topsoil nutrients will be washed away without the trees, so the trees can't grow back to the same state. And of course the oxygen from these trees is necessary for all animal life.

Monocultures agriculture: For example, we use cloned banana plants almost exclusively. Virtually all bananas are clones grown in giant plantations. The problem is that it takes one good blight to wipe out all of these clones, as there is no resistivity in genetic diversity among genetically identical plants.

Dumping toxic waste into water bodies basically obliterates the ecosystem. China lets pollution fill up the Yangtze river.

These are just a few but there is a lot more stuff that we human's do that hurts the earth!!
