By definition, \( P(A|B) = P(A\cup B)/P(B)\) Try to substitute \( B=A\cap C) \) into the above definition and see what you get.

Sorry that there was a typo. The definition should have read: \( P(A|B)=P(A\cap B)/P(B) \) This is the definition of conditional probability using set notation. \( \cap \) denotes intersection, and \( \cup \) denotes union. A and B are events represented by sets.
