How to find equations in standard form of the lines through point P that re parallel to and perpendicular to line l P(-4,1); L: y+2=0

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

y+2=0 imples y = -2 so our line/lines will have slope 0 because we are parallel to y = 0*x-2 there is only one line that is slope 0 (horizontal) that goes through the point (-4,1) and that is y = 1

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

does this make sense? It sort of odd because it asks for a family of equations, but there is only one equation that satisfies this
