What is the degree of the monomial 32ab^2c?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought it would be 2, but that's wrong.

OpenStudy (uri):

Why wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just got back my graded homework and that was my answer. I don't know what I did wrong though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you explain why it would be 2c? Is it because c comes after the exponent of 2?

OpenStudy (uri):

I say it's 4.

OpenStudy (uri):

a=1 b=2 c=1

OpenStudy (uri):

a^1b^2c^1 ^just add the powers...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I see! Thank you so much.

OpenStudy (uri):

Yw :)
